Community-Building Events
We are more than a drop off and pick up program. We intentionally promote community. Parents, caregivers and grandparents are encouraged to join us throughout the year at our events.

All of the Three-year-olds class families feel so lucky to be a part of the Tenth preschool community.
We thank you for not only making
it a great school but a wonderful
place for us all to grow.
September Kick-Off Celebration
The week before school starts in September, we welcome students and parents to join us for an opportunity to meet the teachers, visit the classroom, celebrate the start of school, and experience a Music Together class.
Monthly Picnics in the Park
Every month, families have an opportunity to gather in Rittenhouse Square with their classmates, the director, and teachers at the end of the morning for lunch and play. During inclement weather, we meet in our large indoor play space.
Drop-Off-Teas
Every month parents and younger siblings are encouraged to linger a little longer in the morning after they drop off their child to enjoy some sweet treats and adult conversation with other preschool parents and the director.
Take-Them-A-Meal
We recognize that even on the best days, it may be hard to get a meal on the table. Add a life-changing event like a birth, death, or move, and meal preparation becomes an additional stress. Tenth Preschool families and staff support one another during hard times by setting up a “meal train” to help lighten the load.
PAC Meetings and School Selection Night
In the fall, the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) organizes a School Selection Night to help parents make informed decisions about elementary school options. Veteran parents are invited to share their school choice stories and answer questions. In the spring, PAC hosts another community-building gathering.
Christmas Gathering
The entire preschool gathers in December for dinner and a re-enactment of the Christmas story. This is a not-to-be-missed event!
End of Year Celebration
On the last day of school, each class has an opportunity to share with their families their favorite poems and songs from the year followed by food and fellowship.
Field Trips
In the fall, the 3’s, Pre-K, and Kindergarten families meet at Styer Orchard for a hayride, apple and pumpkin picking, and lunch. Throughout the year we attend the Philadelphia Orchestra’s Sound All Around concerts at the Academy of Music.
Summer Playdates
In June, July, and August, preschool parents organize summer playdates in neighborhood parks for past, present, and new families.
